AI Citation Tracking & Source Discovery | Rank Prompt
See the sources AI cites, and which you can reach
Discover where AI systems find their information, then focus on the sources you can actually reach. Our Rank Prompt Score identifies high-value outreach targets, not just high-authority sites you can't access.
Citations drive AI recommendations
When AI systems answer questions, they reference trusted sources. But not all cited sources are reachable. We help you find the ones you can actually influence.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are AI citations?
When AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode (AI Overviews), Claude, Gemini, and Grok recommend a brand, they cite sources, specific websites they used to form that recommendation. We track these citations across all your visibility reports, showing you which domains AI platforms trust and reference most frequently. Citations are the foundation of AI search rankings.
What is Rank Prompt Score?
Rank Prompt Score (0-100) measures how easy it is to get featured on a citation source through outreach. It analyzes URL intent patterns (reviews, comparisons, guides), domain reachability (can you claim a profile, contact authors, submit content?), citation frequency, and content type. High score = high outreach opportunity. It's NOT just citation frequency.
Why does Wikipedia have citations but low Rank Prompt Score?
This is the key distinction: Wikipedia, Forbes, and major publications get cited by AI systems frequently, but they have LOW Rank Prompt Scores because you cannot realistically get featured there through outreach.
What makes a high Rank Prompt Score?
High-scoring sites (70-100) typically allow profile claims, accept contributor content, respond to outreach, or feature user-generated reviews. Examples: G2 (+25 pts), Capterra (+25 pts), Clutch (+20 pts), industry blogs with guest post programs. Low-scoring sites have penalties: Wikipedia (-30), Forbes (-20).
How do citations affect visibility?
AI systems prioritize sources they've successfully cited before when forming responses. If your brand is mentioned on sites that AI frequently cites AND where you can build presence (high RP Score), you're significantly more likely to be recommended.
Can I see competitor citations?
Yes! Our citation tracking shows which sources cite your competitors, their Rank Prompt Scores (outreach difficulty), how often they're cited by AI, and on which platforms.
